I haven't been listening to the news to much lately, seeing how I disagree with my of the actions the new admin, its better not to.  However today, I happen to see a little of Judge Sonia Sotomayor being questioned by congress and frankly what a saw scared the cr*p out of me. 

Every question I saw was about abortion.  This didn't suprise me.  My stand on this topic is, a disagree with them being used as a method of birth control.  But there are cases when they are needed.

Well, what scared me so today was this question.  One of the sentors asked Judge Sonia Sotomayor, if she thought a woman who was 38 weeks pregnant should be allowed to have an abortion, if she learned at that time that the fetus had spina bifida?

I asked everyone around me and they all heard 38 weeks also.   (you are considered full term at 37 weeks)

Judge Sonia Sotomayor at first declined to answer, but later stated, "the condition of the fetus and the term of the pregnancy is all part of doctor - patient confidentiality."

It appears to me that Judge Sotomayor is saying that a woman can have an abortion up until the time she gives birth.  Maybe I'm reading into her statement.  But I think we need to all take the time and listen to same of the questioning.

Why do crazy people always move next to me?

Well this is going to be a long one.  And I have to explain my yard setup.

I live at the end of a dead end road.  The dirt road ends at my driveway.  They are only two houses on my street mine and my neighbor to the north.  At the end of the dirt road to the south in front of my house is 80 feet of grass covered road easement.  Across the easement and road our two houses their backyard touches the road or the grass easement.  You can’t see their houses before there are a number of trees between.  Like a six feet deep 300 feet long mini forest.

To the south of our house are four houses where their backyards touch the side of my front yard to the side of my backyard.  In addition we have three houses behind us where our backyard touches their backyard.   All of these houses have fences on the property lines.  Except for one, it’s fence comes two feet into the grass road easement.  It was that way when we moved in and we have so much land we didn’t say anything.  On my side of these fences I have planted trees and other shrubs and lined the beds with landscape bricks.

Our yard is three lots wide and two lots deep.  Most homes our on one lot.  (My neighbor to the north’s yard is two lots wide and two lots deep.   So we have nine neighbor were their property touches ours.  That’s a lot of neighbors.  We’re lived in this house twenty years.

Now I can start the tale.  We had to get our sewer lines replaced in the winter, so we had a 200 feet long three feet wide dirt area from were the pipe was dig up.  You have to let the ground settle for at least four month.  July 4^th weekend was around that time so we leveled the ground and seeded it.   We were having a problem with rabbits and birds eating the seed, so a let (while I was watch them) my sons scared the animals away with their paintball guns.  (We only have blue paint balls.) They shot at the ground by the animals.  (I would never let them shot at an animal.)  Their guns run out of CO2 quickly and they remain that way since today.  (They won’t work without CO2.)  

Two days later, a neighbor whose backyard touches the side of our front yard calls us over.  He and his girlfriend point to their garage.  There are four white streak marks on it that are over four feet high off the ground.  She hands my husband one intact blue paintball and says that we hit their garage.  Their garage is over 200 feet away from the area my boys were shooting and there are a couple trees in the ways.

These people bought the house three months ago.  She stated that two of the streaks where there when they brought the house and two more showed up after my boys were shooting. 

In my opinion the streaks are bird poop.  They are white, the paint ball were blue.  It’s highly unlikely that the paintballs could have traveled that far.  My sons were shooting at the ground and the marks were four feet high.  It is highly unlikely that the paintball caused them.  To keep peace, we explained that we didn’t think it was us, but we would paint their garage.  And we wouldn’t shoot the guns in our front yard again.

They said they were going to paint it anyway and didn’t want any of our ‘damn help or money’.  Then the guy added, “if my 16 year old dog gets hit with a paint ball I’ll kill you.”  I thought this was overboard seeing how we already said we wouldn’t be shooting the paintballs again.

The next day I moved an azalea bush that I planted on my side of the fence two years ago to a different location.   It had been two years and the roots wouldn’t take in that area.  (I didn’t need a shovel it came out by hand.  I’ve been trying to plant things in that location for years nothing seems to grow but weeds.)

Yesterday I came home to see that this neighbor had removed every plant on my side of the fence for twenty feet and were putting in a large gate.  Hubby had said something to me about the guy putting a gate up so that twice a year he could drive on the grass easement in front of our house so he could put his boat in his backyard.  Seeing how nothing but weeds likes to grow in that are, I had no problem with it.  I just think they should have said some to me.

Well, I go over to get my bricks (I had that bed bricked in and the bricks cost $3 a pair.  They are the same bricks that I have around my entire yard.)   When I get there the neighbor comes over and tells me his property goes two feet pass the fence.  He points to the misplaced fence. 

I tell him, he’s wrong that his fence is actually six inches on by property.  (I know this because the surveyor who did our survey when we bought the house drew the property lines and the fence placement.  When we built our addition five years ago we had the property re-steaked, I saw the steak inside their fence.  Plus the telephone poll is on their side of the fence.  Telephone polls go down the property line.) 

He told me I was wrong and he didn’t want to argue with me.

I said, I didn’t come to argue I came for my bricks.

He then call me a number of names told me, we were a bunch of assholes and he wanted nothing more to do with us because first we shot up his garage then we stole his plant. 

I replied very surprised, you mean the half dead azalea I brought from Meijer two years ago.  I have the receipt inside.  I can go get it and my property survey.  

Now, why would anyone believe that plants and stones on the outside their fence were theirs?   <input ... >

 Hermione scene from chapter 18

 Here is a scene of Hermione and Walden.  It goes with Chapter 15.  Just realized I hadn't posted it here.

Well it's time for summer again.  In just two hours my children will be home from their last day of school.   This year is going to be alot different from the ones before.  My oldest just finished his sophmore year.  He's sixteen and I'm a little torn.  I'd like to spoil the boy and let him have a fun summer but getting your first job the summer of your sixteenth birthday is something everyone in my family has always done.  

This is one of the times when parenting is hard.  He doesn't need to work for the money but I've always believed that its best to learn early what working is like.  In top of that he needs to start thinking about his future.   He is only going to be a junior but he will be in all Senior level classes.  If he takes an extra class at the local Junior college he will be able to graduate at the end of next year.  

With College just around the corner there is a lot of research to do.  

Why does the Always comerical that ends with the line; "Have a happy period!"  Make me laugh?

Is it the insanity of the statement.  It's like walking into the denist and having them say. "Have a pleasurable root canal!"

After seeing Jen's post about the horible hatred some people have. I felt a need to post this.

When you need a pick me up. Because you feel the world is cold and heartless, watch the movie Radio.
I'm sure there are many other movies that do this and please post any you know.

Radio is a wonderful movie about a man that risks losing and then ends up quiting the job he loves to help a mentally challenged young man. It's based on a true story about doing what is right not what is easy. It also shows how one person can in the end change a town forever.

The media needs to talk more about this behavoir.

Well, the 36 question asked about ghosts. So here is a ghost stories post. If you have had strange things happen to you add a post.

Here I go with some.

Most of things that have happened to me were small. I have lots of stories about my childhood home. I'll tell you stories about it later. Because although I know that house was the most amazing things happened outside of that house.

I have seen four full body apparitions in my life. So I will start with them.

STORY NUMBER ONE:

The first was when I was five shortly after my grandfather's death. He appeared to me right after I had returned from Kindergarden. My father worked nights and was sleeping.

I was sitting at the top of the stairs looking at a book when I heard my name being called. I looked down the stairs and saw a transparent form of my grandfather walking towards me. He told me not to be frightened, that he was not going to harm me. He said he needed to tell me something important.

I can't control my fright and ran for my parents' bedroom and knocked madly on the door. I could still hear my grandfather's voice trying to calm me down. I remember him saying, "death was not to be feared." I know he was saying more but my paniced mind couldn't understand it. When my father opened the door my grandfather's voice stopped and when I looked back he was gone.

From that day on I wish I would have just been able to listen to him. I wonder if I got his message.

STORY NUMBER TWO:

If you're in your 40's or older I am sure you remember the corner store. When I was nine one day I had just gotten a gumball. I looked out the window and saw a transparent boy (ghost) about my size walking towards the store. I wasn't scared but I was compelled to stay inside and watch him approach. I hadn't been watching for long when a speeding car pulled up passed the parking space and onto the sidewalk where the ghost was walking. The ghost disappeared. The car stopped only inches away from the store leaving long skidmarks from its out of control stop. I was shocked as if I had just seen a live person being ran over.

The car was real. The men in the car came out laughing. One of the two men happened to be a neighbor who wouldn't let me play with his children because in his words. 'I was careless and unsupervised.' When he came inside. I stepped in front of him and asked if he always drove so wrecklessly. He pushed me aside and muttered something. The sales woman had seen everything too. She yelled at the men. "I saw you. You weren't even looking. If someone would have been on the sidewalk you would have killed them."

For years I thought I had saw the way that little boy had died in the past or the furture. It wasn't until years later when I was telling the story to a group that another possiblity was discussed. A man in the group said, "I don't think you saw a ghost. I believe it was a divine being sent to keep you safely inside."

Ghost story 3:

I was 13 stay at a friends house. There were six of us around that age three boys and three girls. The three boys where my friend's brother. We slept in the basement next to a coal room that had been filled with dirt. At around two a.m. the extreme cold woke me up. This was surprising seeing how it was summer. I heard a noise by the coal room. I saw a dark shape of a woman. Her presents made me feel gloomy. I heard her whisper, "Free me."

I screamed "NO" waking everyone else in the basement up which caused the woman to disappear. After telling everyone what happened, my friend hit her brothers. They then told me how they had performed some rituals out of a witchcraft book a month ago. Strange things started to happen so they did a reversing spell.


Ghost story 4:

This is short. Twelve years ago my boys then 4 and 2 told me that a polar bear would look into their night. Well, I never saw the polar bear but I once saw an indian in a white coal and hat looking inside. His present was calming so I said nothing.

So as I'm scrolling through the internet today complaining about trivial things.  I realize things have to be going really well if my biggest comments in life to be:

1) Fan fiction author who get way to many reviews because the threaten to stop writing and the people that give them reviews.

2) Fan fiction authors who make their screen name close to a very good author's name.

All I want for Christmas is to not see another D/G married but Ginny had a child with Harry and kept it a secret from Draco for three or more years.  This story doesn't work for me.  I don't see how they work at all.  That is too big of a lie to overcome in a relationship.  

 

My husband surprises me all the time lately.  

I need to tell you the background so you understand.  Growing-up everything in my husband's family centered around his father.  He never signed his sons up for sports or boy scouts before those things weren't convenient for him.  HIs family spent all their extra money on boating because that what his father wanted.  Every vacation was taken to a place selected by his father.  While his dad bought himself new cars every two years, his sons bikes came from garage sales.  

While his father's clothing was gotten at JC Penny, or Macys.  My husband's thing were gotten at discount store until he started buying his own items with his own money.  My husband's high school graduation suit was even a bargain basement item from the 1960's and he graduated in 1981.  It didn't even fit him right.  (Now, I have no problem with discount stores.  But the clothing shouldn't like dated.  And once a child is in junior high, they have to have some stylist clothing.)  His parents didn't even help him play for his college.  And because of his father's income, he couldn't get any state aide or loans.

My husband's look like his family was poor, when his father was the Vice President of a major company making $125,000 a year in the 1980's.  In short my husband was raised that everything goes to Dad first.

Many of our problems in our marriage circled around that.  My husband thought when he was the father life would circle around him.  It had be time for him to get everything that he wanted.  

I don't believe that everything should be about the children but everything needs to be about the family.  Knowing my husband's background I always we do special things for him like every other vacation is dad's choice.  He wasn't raised to be a giving person, he had to learn it once he was married.  

Well, OMG the man has out done himself on being giving.  Our oldest son will be 16 in two weeks.  Hubby was been out looking for a car for him for months.  We went and got it yesterday.  He got our son a 2007 Ram 1500 4x4.  Hubby had the dealer deliver the car to our son.  He even let Chris and I drive it home.

I asked hubby why he got that truck for our son and he said.  "The car is really for our convenience.  Chris will be transporting himself and his brother and sister to there practices.  My most precious items are going to be in that car.  I want them in the safest car I can get my hands on."

As any added surprise, I told hubby he should take the truck to work today.  The kids and I didn't have any place to go.  He said, "No.  Take Chris out and let him practice driving it."

I can see how much this man want to drive that car but he wants more to make this very surprise for his son.

 OK.   I'm asking some help here.  I'm planning on adding a love interest into Hermione life but I'm stuck.  She isn't my favorite character.  Yes she is smart but I think she is bossy.  

OH, Hermione is 28 in the story.

So who to pair her with?  My story is a Draco/Ginny pairing  plus Ron and Harry are out for the story.  Do I bring Vicktor Krum back?  I do like the idea of a brainy girl gettng the sports star.

Charlie Weasley is hanging around with her right now.  But I think he may see her more as a little sister.  But maybe?  

What do you think of her with Snape?  My story is pre-DH or AU.  I do think they admire each others brain power.  However I do already have a number of Slytherin/Gryfinddor pairings.

I see her with an older man or if he is her age a man who lets her boss him again.

I'll never understand some people, myself included.  (I'm not going to use real names.)  

Why do I second guess myself about putting my own daughter's wellbeing above others?  

This is a long story.  It all started last year.  My daughter plays travel hockey and last year she made the top team.  Well, that didn't last for long because half of the team quit two weeks into the season.  So she was placed on a lower level 10 and under team.  Well after another two weeks, she was moved again to a 12 and under team that had girls that can't skate.  It was a major step back for my daughter and I was going to move her to a different assocation.  But I kept her there because if we left they wouldn't have enough girls for a team.  (I put their girls desire to play hockey above my daughters needs to improve her skills.)

This season she was playing for a good 12 and under team.  Will last week she tells me she wants to quit because none of the girls will partner up with her.  They think she's a bad player.
Will normally I don't let my children quiet things but she was really unhappy.  So, I go and talk it over with a friend of mine how played on my daughter's first team last year.  She is also on the assocation's board.

Friend: "I'm not surprised your daughter's unhappy.  I was going to tell you this before but thought Mrs. A was over it."

Me: "Over what?"

Friend:  "Well you see, Cathy.  Mrs. A's daughter is on your current team right?"

Me: "Yes"

Friend: "Well she is the reason half of the players quit last year.  None of us wanted to hurt you or your daughter's feelings so we didn't tell you.  But Mrs. A wrote a two page letter to coach explaining why she thought your daughter should be removed from the team.  It went on and on about how your daughter had no hockey skills and didn't belong on the team.  When the coach didn't remove your daughter from the team she made her daughter quit and joined another team.  She kept bothering other parents on the team until they moved their daughter to get her off her back.

Me: "What?  Then why did she decide to play on this new team with us.  She know my daughter was going to play here.  Her daughter was playing with another team, she quit them to play with us."

Friend: "Well, that's why I thought she was over it.  But I should have known better at her court case in July..."

Me: Court case?

Friend: "Yes.  You see we all signed a document last year stating that we'd pay the assocation $900 to play on the team.  It's a standard contract for teams of that level.  Will the assocation sued everyone who quit for the money.  Most explained they left because of the problems Mrs. A was creating and the association settled for $200.  But Mrs. A thought she had a good reason for quiting.  In open court she went on and on about your daughter not being good enough or driven enough to play hockey at any level.
Well, you should have seen the look on her face when our lawyer showed the judge the score sheets from last spring.  Everyone knew that your daughter was the top scorer.  The judge told her, she sounded like a jealous parent and she should be ashamed of herself for defaming a ten year old child.  He ordered her to pay the assocation $1800 because of all the court costs."

Me: "I can't have my daughter around a b***ch like that.  They all think she a great person on our new team.  Her husband is one of the coaches.  I wish you would have told me sooner.  I won't willing expose my child to that type of hate."

So, I call the head coach and we quit.  I don't tell him about what Mrs. A did I just tell him my daughter quit.

Then my phones starts ringing.  If my daughter quits they won't have enough for a team and they are going to fold.  These people try to guilt me into making my daughter play.  Because now other girls will be without a team.  And stupid me feels bad, like a did do something wrong.

Well, I have to keep telling myself.  It's not my fault.  It's not my daughter's fault.  It's Mrs. A fault and all the bratty little girls that wouldn't partner up with my daughter.

Looking for understanding.

All right I know that everyone has writers block.  But does anyone else out there just want to scream.  WILL YOU PLEASE FINISH ONE STORY BEFORE YOU GO ON TO ANOTHER?  

I can't believe how many writers have 20 or more unfinished stories.

I've gotten into the habit of verify that the writer has completed at least half of their stories before I start reading them anymore.  

Oh well.   I posted this here to rant because it would be very rude to post it in everyones review.

This question is not a spoiler but some people answers may be.  So here we go.

Two times in the 7 books a person says.

'if I was in blank house I think I'd leave.'
